It’s your turn.
This a common phrase when we play games with friends or family.
These words typically come out when we don’t pay attention and are somewhere else in our minds or are doing something else.
This time it’s about the game of life.
It’s your turn from the moment you’re born. The moment you enter this world, it’s your turn to start breathing independently, to grow and develop.
It is your turn to transform yourself from a helpless baby fast forward to a young adult now taking on the world — another step toward independence.
Before you know it, it’s your turn to figure out how to make a living for yourself, grow yourself and contribute to the growth of this beautiful planet of ours.
Hopefully, you’re prepared, but you never can fully prepare.
Life takes turns as well.
When you think you have it all figured out, a curve ball is thrown at you, and the process starts over again. Your turn again.
There are many turns in life, and you can’t prepare for all of them. It’s always good to expect the unexpected so you can adapt when needed, but that doesn’t mean you have an immediate answer to every situation.
Life is not about preventing any worst-case scenario or predicting what might happen. There are just too many variables for you even to come close to controlling your desired outcome.
The best you can do is to be crystal clear on what you want and practice responding when things are not going as expected.

That’s what’s the real challenge here to be fulfilled in life.
To figure out what you want, it’s good to know what you’re good at, what you’re passionate about, what provides you with an income, and how this all contributes to a better world.
Finding out what you want means finding the sweet spot of your (working) life.
And controlling your reactions when things don’t go your way is a matter of practicing your mindset.
Sweet spot and mindset. Those are the two key ingredients to living a fulfilled life.
Allow me to ask the crucial question here.
Are you living a fulfilled life?
It’s not a question you should ask at the end of your life.
Being fulfilled is something you work on daily.
If you can truly reflect on every day with gratitude and fulfillment, you’re living a good life.
You’ve made the right turns in your life.
But if you’re not in your sweet spot, and your days are not always (or often not) leading to gratitude and fulfillment, it’s time for a change.
You have one life.
It’s too short to let it go to waste or not maximize your potential. And while regrets are part of life, not getting what you want out of your life is a regret you don’t want to experience.
I end all my insights by asking the ‘Your Turn’ question.
I like to write in a simple and meaningful way, provoking thoughts for growth. Ensuring that you’re always in control of your turns and minimize regret.
That’s also how I like to coach, facilitate, and consult when working with my clients — helping them to maximize their potential.
But in the end, it’s still their turn and your turn.
Your turn: Right?
